Pharmacological properties.
GASTROGOL — is a natural herbal raw material high-quality medicine.
GASTROGOL contains several active substances, which cause a local effect in the digestive tract and have a central action on gastric secretory and motor functions.
Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare) contains mixture of trans-anethol with fenchone, estragole and other components. Researches іn vitro and in vivo proved a direct spasmolytic effect on smooth muscles: antitonic effect is realized by blocking Na+ ion flow and interfering Ca2+ ions cell entrance, which prevents muscle cell membrane depolarization and muscle fibre contraction. Fennel has an intestinal normalization action, removes duodenum hyperperistalsis and spasm without causing hypotonia.
Wild chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) has a strong antiinflammatory, antiseptic, antiallergic and regenerative effect. Chamazulene penetrates mucous coat fast and deep. Activation of pituitary-adrenal system leads to more intensive release of corticotropin and cortisone. β-pharnesene and α-bisabolol have also antiinflammatory and antiallergic effects. Apigenin, luteolin and meletin have an expressed spasmolytic action. Apigenin binds brain benzodiazepine receptors. Chamomile has a significant sedative (regarding symptomatology of neurotic origin: anxiety, fear) and anxiolytic effect, which is expressed in the reduction of emotional tension, weakening of anxiety, fear and worry feelings.
Pepper mint (Mentha piperita) is used with various GIT (gastrointestinal tract) functional disturbances, including torminas, meteorism, diarrhea, sickness, vomiting. As a digestive agent pepper mint reduces gas generation, spasms and bloat. Pepper mint is also successfully used for treatment of irritable large intestine syndrome and dyspepsia. Pepper mint forces smooth muscles to relax and it slows down food transit through small intestine. Due to menthol content mint has a choleretic action (strengthens bile secretion). It also has a slight sedative effect. Since ulcer and gastritis are psychosomatic diseases, GASTROGOL influences psycho-autonomic disturbances as essential ulcerogenic factor. All active substances of GASTROGOL have a carminative effect.
